Buddhist Exhibition To Be Held in Phnom Penh in Mid-February

India is going to hold a five-day Buddhist exhibition in Phnom Penh in mid-February for the public and Buddhist monks to learn more about the value and heritage of Buddhism.
The exhibition is scheduled to take place at Ounalom Pagoda from Feb. 13-18, said Ambassador of India to Cambodia H.E. Dinesh K. Patnaik during a meeting here on Tuesday with H.E. Min Khin, Minister of Cult and Religion.
On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, H.E. Min Khin fully supported the event, saying that it is a new achievement of the close cooperation between Cambodia and India.
“Buddhism is a main foundation of culture in Southeast Asian countries,” said H.E. Minister, stressing that Buddhism has played key roles in preserving languages, orthography, cultures, and strengthening people’s morality.
The upcoming exhibition will include the display of pictures related to Buddhism and Buddha’s relics, Dharma sermons, the organization of Buddhist worship centers, Buddhist cultural show, etc.
After Cambodia, there will be the same exhibition in Vietnam and other Buddhist countries in Southeast Asia.
Buddhism is the state region of Cambodia. More than 95 percent of the Cambodian people practice Theravada Buddhism.
