To mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the international Catholic‒Pentecostal dialogue, Pope Francis sent a message to members of the Commission gathered in Rome from 8‒14 July for its plenary session.

Greeting all commemorating 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Commission for Catholic-Pentecostal Dialogue, Pope Francis calls for continued dialogue, renewed zeal to proclaim the Gospel, and showing to others God's transformative love.

The annual ecumenical meeting, which was originally due to take place in December 2020, but had to be postponed to July this year, wraps up in the Northern Italian city on Sunday, after three intense days of prayers and spiritual and cultural events gathering hundreds of youths from across Europe and other continents.

On 26 June 2022, the Lutheran congregation in Rome celebrated the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Christ Church with a festive cantata service at which the President of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), Präses Dr. h.c. Annette Kurschus, delivered the homily.

On 19 May 2022 a delegation of the Eritrean Tewahedo Orthodox Church, led by Archbishop Abune Paolos, Exarch for Europe, accompanied by Deacon Girmay Zeray Asmeron, of the Patriarchal Secretariat, visited the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.

The Plenary Assembly of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity is being held in the Vatican from 3–6 May 2022 on the theme “Towards an Ecumenical Celebration of the 1700th Anniversary of Nicaea I (325-2025)”.

Despite being unable to have their last scheduled meeting in October of 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, the Methodist–Roman Catholic International Commission (MERCIC) was able to complete its eleventh report entitled God in Christ Reconciling.
