 Joining hands to overcome sufferings

by Pastor Phạm Đình Nhẫn

Brothers and sisters, it is Jesus who teaches that, “Where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” Accordingly, I do not think that we need to direct ourselves to any destination or place because the Sacred One who is God is in our midst, listening to our hearts. Allow me to pray.

Oh God, Creator and our God, You created us and placed us on the earth. You well know our feelings and every drop of tear, listen to our lament sounded from the bottom of our heart. We believe so. Oh God, there are secrets we do not understand from human mind, but we do believe that You always want to bring good things to each person.

Comfort and ease sorrows in our lives, oh God, we pray, and let each of us undergo every moment of life, rely on You when suffering, and be aware we are just clay and thus need a Supreme Creator.

Thanks be to Jesus since He incarnated and taught the thief who is evil came to steal and destroy; however, Jesus himself came to bring us life and give it more abundantly. Kindly help us bear your heart in our heart so that we do not ignore those who are suffering around us, willingly give sympathy, mourn with those who mourn, and rejoice with those who rejoice.

Thanks be to Jesus for his suffering on the cross and we could ask Him to bear all our burdens. Grant us hope, oh Jesus, so that we realize one day He will come again, dry all tears of humanity, and therefore suffering, and mourning will depart from us. We long for your return.

Oh God, grant us grace in order that we know You are the Way and the Truth and we will look for the Sacred One.

We admit that You listen to our prayers since You say, “Believe and it is done, look for and you will find, and knock and the door will be opened to you.”

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
