Christ Lutheran Church in Rome celebrates centenaryOn 26 June 2022, the Lutheran congregation in Rome celebrated the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Christ Church with a festive cantata service at which the President of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), Präses Dr. h.c. Annette Kurschus, delivered the homily.

Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, emphasised in his greeting the joint confession of "one baptism for the forgiveness of sins" (Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed) and described the historic baptismal bowl from 1832, which originally stood in the Protestant chapel of the Prussian Embassy in Rome, as an "ecumenical treasure".

President Annette Kurschus visited the dicastery on 27 June with other representatives of the EKD to discuss common ecumenical and pastoral challenges with Cardinal Kurt Koch and Father Dr Augustinus Sander, OSB, the staff member responsible for dialogue with the Lutheran world. In view of the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea in 2025, both parties emphasised the importance of "Christus-Ökumene".
