Ecumenical dimension in ecclesiology of Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI

On Thursday 31 March Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, made a presentation at the study day on “Chiesa ed ecclesiologia” (Church and Ecclesiology) organized by the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome in connection with the presentation of the book “Chiesa: segno tra i popoli” (Church: Sign Among People) from the Opera Omnia of Joseph Ratzinger ‒ Benedict XVI.

In his presentation, entitled “La dimensione ecumenica nell’ecclesiologia di Joseph Ratzinger – Benedetto XVI” (The Ecumenical Dimension in the Ecclesiology of Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI), Cardinal Koch outlined the theological foundations of ecumenism of Joseph Ratzinger before turning his attention to ecumenism as participation in the priestly prayer of our Lord, to the overcoming of the great divisions in the Church, and to the ongoing presence of the ecumenical theme in the thought of Benedict XVI.
