A delegation from the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity (PCPCU) of the Roman Catholic Church led prayers at the chapel of the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva, Switzerland on Monday, 18 February.

 

The PCPCU delegation is visiting the World Council of Churches (WCC) offices from 17 to 20 February, hosted by the WCC’s Commission on World Mission and Evangelism.

 

At the service, reflections on Ephesians 1:15–23 were shared by Fr. David Kinnear Glenday, a Comboni Missionary, and secretary general of the Union of Superiors General, while Rev. Dr Luis M. Melo, staff at the PCPCU, led the prayers.

 

The service was attended by Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, the WCC general secretary, along with staff members from the WCC and its partner ecumenical organizations based in Geneva.

During their visit, the PCPCU delegates will prepare for their task as observers at the WCC 10th Assembly in Busan, Republic of Korea, from 30 October to 8 November this year.

 

Among the delegates are Sister Josune Miren Josebe Arregui Luco, Rev. Fr Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, Sister Georgeanne Mary Donovan, Sister Nzenzili Lucie Mboma, Rev. Fr Richard Nnyombi, Monsignor. Juan Usma Gómez and Bishop Brian Farrell.

 

The delegates will meet with the WCC staff members from its mission programme, commission on faith and order and the WCC general secretariat.
