Spotlight on new centre for interreligious dialogue
(Vatican Radio) An international symposium was inaugurated in Vienna, Austria on Monday to mark the opening of the “King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue” (KAICIID). Named after the king if Saudi Arabia who began the initiative, the objective of KAICIID is to promote dialogue between peoples of different religions and cultures throughout the world.

The Holy See's representative on the KAICIID Board of Directors is Fr Miguel Ayuso, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue. Speaking with Vatican Radio, Fr Ayuso noted that “The International community is expecting many things from this new centre.”The collaboration between different religious leaders, he said, will be aimed towards finding ways of “inviting the international community so as to allow every human person to enjoy this basic right that is religious freedom.”
