DAILY MEDITATION: "Fortunate are those who are poor in spirit..."
By Admin Webmaster 1/28/2023 7:49:17 AMThis message by the Lord is addressed to those who want to live a life of unselfishness, of meekness, of desire for justice, of preoccupation and interest for the problems of their fellow men, and cast aside all the rest.

DAILY MEDITATION: “Why are you terrified? Do you not yet have faith?”
By Admin Webmaster 1/26/2023 9:35:11 PMWe have received the Holy Spirit, which, if we always do our best to obey the Father's will, lets us see beyond doubt and fear that our Lord is positively guiding us in our walk of faith through life. Because we have the Holy Spirit, we have no reason to fear anything. Jesus is the one and only Lord of the Universe, because “even the wind and sea obey him?” (Mk 4, 41),...

DAILY MEDITATION: “This is how it is with the kingdom of God; it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land (…)"
By Admin Webmaster 1/25/2023 11:20:49 PMThe seed begins very small, “It is like a mustard seed that, when it is sown in the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on the earth. But once it is sown, it springs up and becomes the largest of plants and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade.” (Mk 4,31-32).

DAILY MEDITATION: “Is a lamp brought in to be placed under a bushel basket or under a bed?”
By Admin Webmaster 1/25/2023 7:25:19 AM“‘Anyone who has ears to hear ought to hear.’ He also told them, ‘Take care what you hear’” (Mk 4,23-24). But, what does it mean “to hear”? What are we to hear? This is the great question we have to ask ourselves. It is an attitude of sincerity towards God that demands to know what we really want to do.

DAILY MEDITATION: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature”
By Admin Webmaster 1/23/2023 9:30:47 PMSt. Paul's conversion is a great event: from persecuting Jesus' followers he converted into a servant and defender of the cause of Christ. Quite often, perhaps, we have also been “persecutors”: and, as St. Paul, we need to convert from “persecutors” into servants and defenders of Jesus Christ.

DAILY MEDITATION:"Whoever does the will of God is brother and sister and mother to me"
By Admin Webmaster 1/22/2023 11:19:20 PMIs Jesus trying to tell us his only relatives are those who listen to him attentively? Of course not! His relatives are not those who listen to him but those who listen to and abide by God's will: it is those who are his brother, his sister, his mother...
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness”
By Admin Webmaster 1/22/2023 12:54:24 AMToday, when we read about this event in the Gospel we are more than a little surprised when “The scribes who had come from Jerusalem” recognize Jesus' compassion for the oppressed and witness the divine miracles with which He blesses them, but then say, “He is possessed by Beelzebul”, and “By the prince of demons he drives out demons.” (Mk 3, 22).

DAILY MEDITATION: "Jesus went around all Galilee"
By Admin Webmaster 1/20/2023 9:33:01 PMUnwavering, fearlessly, without looking for any excuses to postpone for “to-morrow” our apostolic action. They say, "“to-morrow” is the adverb of the defeated". This is why St. Josemaría recommended "Here is a recipe to make your apostolic spirit effective: make definite plans, not for the whole week but for the day ahead, for this moment and the next".
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “He is out of his mind”
By Admin Webmaster 1/19/2023 9:54:55 PMOnce again, the old proverb “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and in his own house” (Mt 13, 57), is seen to be true. It is unnecessary to say this complaint does not “taint” the Blessed Virgin Mary, because from the beginning to the last moment —when she was at the foot of the Cross— she always kept her immovable faith and trust towards her Son.

DAILY MEDITATION:“Jesus went up the mountain and summoned those whom he wanted”
By Admin Webmaster 1/18/2023 8:49:02 PMThis is how we learn of our apostolic mission of taking Christ to others. First, having him ourselves so that we can share him. Today, and every day, we must meditate upon the true nature of our call to vocation, answering his call with an increased love, born of our increased understanding of what He calls us to do and to be.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “A large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem, from Idumea,..."
By Admin Webmaster 1/18/2023 7:19:42 AMLet us remember that, the unity of the Assembly must be manifested as a fruit of the Eucharist —as well as the union of each one with Jesus— since we feed on the same Bread to be one body. Therefore, what the sacraments stand for, and the graces they contain, demand we work towards communion with all people.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath rather than to do evil..."
By Admin Webmaster 1/17/2023 7:53:59 AMToday, Jesus tells us we must always do good: There is no such thing as a time to do good and a time to overlook our love for others. The love we receive through God brings us to the supreme Law that Jesus left us in the new commandment: “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another” (Jn 13, 34).
-
DAILY MEDITATION:“The sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath”
By Admin Webmaster 1/15/2023 11:20:49 PMSaint Augustine also said: “Love and do as you please.” Do we understand this as saying, or do we allow lesser things to overrule the love we have to place on whatever we do? To work, forgive, correct, attend Mass on Sundays, take care of sick people, abide by the commandments...

DAILY MEDITATION: “Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them?”
By Admin Webmaster 1/15/2023 6:55:33 AMThe Church has remained faithful to Christ's teaching on fasting which, though coming from the prophets and even being a natural and spontaneous practice in many religions, our Lord confirms with a new meaning. Fasting can be used as preparation; it strengthens prayer and contemplation. Jesus fasts in the desert as a preparation for his public life.

DAILY MEDITATION: "There is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world"
By Admin Webmaster 1/13/2023 10:54:14 PMJohn Paul II tells us, while urging us to live by the Grace the lamb has given us: "Pledge to live by the Grace. Jesus was born at Bethlehem precisely for that reason (...). To live by Grace is the supreme dignity, the ineffable joy, the guarantee of peace, the marvelous ideal".
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “I did not come to call the righteous but sinners”
By Admin Webmaster 1/13/2023 8:00:13 AMToday, Saint Mark tells us how Jesus taught and how the crowd came to Him. In those days, they were as hungry of doctrine as we are today, ignorance being always our worst enemy. Let us not forget the expression: “They will hate no more when they ignore no more”...
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “Child, your sins are forgiven.” (...) “I say to you, rise, pick up your mat, and go home.”
By Admin Webmaster 1/12/2023 8:57:28 AMWe are now beginning a new ordinary time. And, we believers are now reminded of the urgent need we have of a sincere and personal encounter with Jesus Christ, the All-Merciful Lord. In this liturgical time, He urges us neither to slacken our pace nor to neglect the necessary forgiveness He offers all of us in his dwelling, the Church.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “If you wish, you can make me clean (...) I do will it. Be made clean.”
By Admin Webmaster 1/11/2023 7:40:18 AMDuring our daily prayer we long for and hope to hear our Lord's voice. But, perhaps more often than not, we fill it with our own words without allowing us time to listen to what the Lord may wish to tell us. Let us, therefore, take care of our inner silence, which —by avoiding distractions and centering our attention— opens up a space to receive the affections and...
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed”
By Admin Webmaster 1/9/2023 9:26:42 PMToday, we are clearly shown how Jesus split his working hours. On one hand, He prayed; on the other, He consecrated time to his mission of praying with words and deeds. Contemplation and Action. Prayer and Work. Being with God while amongst men.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “The people were astonished at his teaching...”
By Admin Webmaster 1/9/2023 8:39:23 AMToday, first Tuesday in Ordinary Time, Saint Mark presents Jesus teaching in the synagogue, and immediately he comments: “The people were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes” (Mk 1, 21). This is quite an extraordinary comment. On one hand, what His listeners admire is certainly not the doctrine but the Master;...
-
DAILY MEDITATION: "Jesus arrived from Galilee and came to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him"
By Admin Webmaster 1/7/2023 11:18:57 PMTo deserve such divine benevolence and complacence, Christ has provided the waters with a regenerating and purifying strength, so that, when baptized, we truly become sons of God. "Maybe someone will wonder: ‘why did He want to be baptized, if He is Holy? Our Divine Lord Jesus Christ was baptized not to be made holy by the waters, but to make holy the waters’" (St Maximus of Turin).
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “Entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother..."
By Admin Webmaster 1/7/2023 6:50:48 AMJesus Christ crosses the paths of the lives of many people who are not interested in Him. A little effort would have changed their lives; they would have found the King of Joy and Peace. This requires a willingness to look for Him, to move around, to ask without losing heart —like the Three Wise Men— to leave our comfort, our routine.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: "And the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus was also invited to the wedding with his disciples"
By Admin Webmaster 1/6/2023 8:04:04 AMLet us, by exercising our faith, move closer to this example of the human behavior of Jesus, thus coming to know and imitate his human dimension as far as we can, learning to love more and more, as we listen to his word, ever growing in faith and trust, until we come to see the face of the Father in him.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: "You are my Son, the Beloved, the One I have chosen"
By Admin Webmaster 1/5/2023 7:31:06 AMJohn Paul II comments that "Rising from the waters of the baptismal font, every Christian hears again the voice that was once heard on the banks of the Jordan River: ‘You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased’. From this comes the understanding that one has been brought into association with the beloved Son, becoming a child of adoption and a brother or sister of Christ"
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “They will hand you over to courts and scourge you”
By Admin Webmaster 1/4/2023 7:35:14 AMWe cannot give what we do not have. So, before we can tell others about the Master, we must already have encountered Him and come to know Him. Only when we know Him well and have allowed Him to enter and direct into our lives, can we share Him with others, as Philip did, and as His disciples have done throughout history.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “Rabbi, where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come, and you will see.”
By Admin Webmaster 1/3/2023 6:27:04 AMIn our Christian life, the essential part is to allow Jesus to gaze into us, to go and see where he stays, to stay with him and to share, and to announce it afterwards. This is the way and procedure followed by the disciples and saints. It is our way.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: "I have seen! And I declare that this is the Chosen One of God"
By Admin Webmaster 1/2/2023 8:48:33 AM"The Spirit comes down", "baptizes with the Holy Spirit" (John 1.33): Baptism makes us become a "new creation", God’s foster children sharing the divine nature, members of Christ, joint-heirs with Him and temples of the Holy Spirit.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: "Among you stands one whom you do not know; although he comes after me"
By Admin Webmaster 1/1/2023 7:11:05 AMThe mystery of salvation in Christ is accompanied always by the testimony. Jesus Christ himself is "The Amen, the faithful and true witness" (Rev 3, 14). It is John the Baptist who bears witness with his vision and gaze as a prophet: "Among you stands one who (…) comes after me" (Jn 1,26-27). And this is how the Apostles understand their mission: "God raised this Jesus; of this we are all witnesses" (Acts 2, 32).
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “The shepherds went in haste to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger.”
By Admin Webmaster 12/30/2022 11:07:56 PMToday, the Church gratefully reflects on the Virgin's maternity as a model of her own motherhood to all of us. Luke offers the “meeting” of the shepherds and the Boy, who is with Mary —His mother— and with Joseph. Joseph's discreet presence reflects his important mission as guardian of the great mystery of the Son of God.

DAILY MEDITATION: “The Word became flesh”
By Admin Webmaster 12/30/2022 8:11:17 AMToday is the last day of the year. Often, mixed feelings —even contradictory ones— can be found in our hearts at this time. It is as though a sample of the different moments we have lived and those we would like to have lived make themselves present in our memories. Today's Gospel can help us pour them out, in order to start the New Year with strength.
