DAILY MEDITATION: “The shepherds went in haste to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger.”
By Admin Webmaster 12/30/2022 11:07:56 PMToday, the Church gratefully reflects on the Virgin's maternity as a model of her own motherhood to all of us. Luke offers the “meeting” of the shepherds and the Boy, who is with Mary —His mother— and with Joseph. Joseph's discreet presence reflects his important mission as guardian of the great mystery of the Son of God.

DAILY MEDITATION: “The Word became flesh”
By Admin Webmaster 12/30/2022 8:11:17 AMToday is the last day of the year. Often, mixed feelings —even contradictory ones— can be found in our hearts at this time. It is as though a sample of the different moments we have lived and those we would like to have lived make themselves present in our memories. Today's Gospel can help us pour them out, in order to start the New Year with strength.

DAILY MEDITATION: "Get up, take the child and his mother and go back to the land of Israel"
By Admin Webmaster 12/29/2022 8:06:49 AMToday, we contemplate the mystery of the Holy Family. The Son of God begins his path through men in the midst of a plain family. It is the Father's design. The family will always be the irreplaceable human habitat. Jesus has a legal father that “carries” him and a Mother that is always by his side.

DAILY MEDITATION: “... Your word has been fulfilled: my own eyes have seen the salvation”
By Admin Webmaster 12/28/2022 7:51:59 AMToday, the old prophecy is eclipsed leaving the way for the new one: He, who King David had announced when intoning his Messianic Psalms, has at long last entered into the Temple of God! Today is the great day when he, who St. Luke names Simeon will soon abandon this world of darkness to enter the vision of eternal Light: “Lord, now let your servant go in peace;...

DAILY MEDITATION: "Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt"
By Admin Webmaster 12/27/2022 8:25:10 AMToday, we celebrate the feast of the Holy Innocents, martyrs. Embedded within the Christmas celebrations, we cannot ignore the message the liturgy wants to convey to us clarifying two main points regarding, the good news of the birth of Jesus. In the first place, St. Joseph's predisposition in God's design for our salvation, by accepting God's will.

DAILY MEDITATION: "He saw and believed"
By Admin Webmaster 12/26/2022 7:51:59 AMToday, the liturgy celebrates the festivity of Saint John, Apostle and Evangelist. The first day after Christmas, the Church celebrates Saint Stephen's day, the first martyr of the Christian faith. And the following day is the feast of Saint John. Saint John is the one who better and most deeply understood the mystery of the Word Incarnate.

DAILY MEDITATION: “They will hand you over to courts and scourge you”
By Admin Webmaster 12/25/2022 10:30:00 AMIn the narrative of his martyrdom we can find a beautiful Trinitarian allusion: "Stephen, filled with the holy Spirit, looked up intently to heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God" (Acts 7, 55). His experience was like a taste of the Glory in Heaven. And Stephen died as Jesus did, by forgiving those who sacrificed him...

DAILY MEDITATION: "For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord"
By Admin Webmaster 12/24/2022 11:29:43 AMToday, the Savior has been born. This is the good news of this Christmas Eve. Like in every Christmas, Jesus is born again in the world, in each home, in our heart.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “The dawn from on high shall break upon us, to shine on those who dwell in darkness”
By Admin Webmaster 12/23/2022 7:42:23 AMToday, the Gospel gathers Zechariah's song of praise after the birth of his son. In its first part John the Baptist's father thanks God, and in the second, his eyes look forward into the future. He oozes joy and hope on recognizing the salvation’s action of God toward Israel, which culminates in the coming of the Messiah, prepared by his own son John.

DAILY MEDITATION: “‘What, then, will this child be?’ For surely the hand of the Lord was with him”
By Admin Webmaster 12/22/2022 7:42:56 AMThe Precursor's birth speaks of the proximity of Christmas. The Lord is at hand!: let's get ourselves ready! When asked who he was by the priests who had come from Jerusalem, he said: “I am ‘the voice of one crying out in the desert, Make straight the way of the Lord.’” (Jn 1, 23).

DAILY MEDITATION: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior”
By Admin Webmaster 12/21/2022 8:01:05 AMWe are getting close to the end of Advent, a time of conversion and purification. Today, it is the Virgin Mary who is showing us the best way. Mulling over our Mother's prayer —by wishing to make it ours— will help us to become more humble. Mother Mary will help us if we truly ask her.

DAILY MEDITATION: “Blessed are you who believed”
By Admin Webmaster 12/20/2022 9:10:05 AMJoy in Elisabeth's soul and face, and in the baby leaping in her womb. The words of Mary's cousin will travel through time: “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb”. (Lk 1, 42). The prayer of the Saint’s Rosary, as a source of joy, is one of the new perspectives discovered by Saint John Paul II in his apostolic Letter about the Rosary of the Virgin Mary.

DAILY MEDITATION: “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.”
By Admin Webmaster 12/19/2022 7:50:43 AMWe are preparing to celebrate Christmas. The best way to do so is to be with Mary, contemplating Her life and trying to imitate Her virtues in order to receive the Lord with the right heart: What does God expect from me, now, today, at work, with this person I deal with all the time, from my relation with Him? A great deal depends on our response to the little things of every day!

DAILY MEDITATION: "Don't be afraid, Zechariah, be assured that your prayer has been heard..."
By Admin Webmaster 12/18/2022 6:24:15 AMToday, the angel Gabriel announces the “supernatural” birth of John the Baptist, the man who will prepare the mission of the Messiah to the priest Zechariah. God, in His loving providence, prepares Jesus' birth along with John's. Elizabeth's sterility is not a problem...
-
DAILY MEDITATION: "When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had told him"
By Admin Webmaster 12/17/2022 5:33:43 AMToday, the liturgy of the Word invites us to consider and admire St. Joseph's figure, a truly good man. About Mary, God's Mother, it has been said that she was blessed among women (cf. Lk 1, 42). About Joseph it has been written he was a just man (cf. Mt 1, 19).

DAILY MEDITATION: “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”
By Admin Webmaster 12/16/2022 7:59:13 AMToday, when we read the genealogy of Jesus in the liturgy of the Mass, a sentence commonly said in rural areas here in Catalonia, Spain, comes to mind: “Josephs, Johns and donkeys are to be found in every house”. That's why, in order to make a difference between them, one uses the household name.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: "John was a burning and shining lamp"
By Admin Webmaster 12/15/2022 7:34:28 AMToday we are asked to learn from St. John. This is not easy. Our self-renunciation and sacrifice, our commitment, the Truth… they are not very much in fashion today. Many are those that only react to money, pleasure, comfort, lies…? We must keep our heart clean and clear of things. Otherwise, neither Jesus nor other people can find any room in there.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “What did you go out to the desert to see?”
By Admin Webmaster 12/14/2022 7:48:02 AMToday, Jesus seems to want us to get rid of that eagerness of ours for a futile curiosity, of the arrogance the Pharisees and Masters of the Law showed by looking down upon God's plans for them by ignoring John's call (cf. Lk 7, 30).
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “The blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed...”
By Admin Webmaster 12/13/2022 7:41:50 AMThe Lord has no limits when it comes to accomplish his mission: “The blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed...” (Lk 7, 22). Where are my hopes placed? Where is my joy resting?
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “The son answered: “‘I will not,’ but afterwards he changed his mind and went””
By Admin Webmaster 12/12/2022 8:32:26 AMAs Saint Augustine wrote, “there are two wills. Your will has to be corrected so as to identify it with God's will; but do not try to bend God's will to adapt it to yours.” In the Catalan language we say a child “believes” you to mean he obeys you. There is an identification of obedience and faith, of the relationship that exists between trust and obedience.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “What authority have you to act like this? Who gave you authority to do all this?”
By Admin Webmaster 12/11/2022 6:38:15 AMToday, the Gospel looks at two aspects of Jesus' personality: His shrewdness and His authority. Let's take his shrewdness first: He knows the heart of man deeply, he knows the inner life of all those who approach him. And when the High Priests and the authorities are sent to maliciously ask him: "What authority have you to act like this?
-
DAILY MEDITATION: "No one greater than John the Baptist has come forward among the sons of women"
By Admin Webmaster 12/10/2022 6:18:28 PMJohn had a firm disposition about his way of life and about sticking to the Truth, which, eventually, brought imprisonment and martyrdom to him. Even in his prison he expeditiously speaks to Herod. John teaches us how to combine a firm character with meekness: "The one who is coming after me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to untie" (Jn 1, 27);...
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him but did to him whatever they pleased”
By Admin Webmaster 12/10/2022 6:18:02 PMA new way of looking and a new heart are necessary if the ways of God are to be recognized, and if we are to respond with cheerfulness and generosity to the demanding calls of those He has sent. Not everybody is willing to understand it, let alone live it. What's more the way we live our lives and our plans might be in opposition to God's will.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “To what shall I compare this generation?”
By Admin Webmaster 12/10/2022 6:17:18 PMToday, we should be distraught before the Lord’s sigh: “To what shall I compare this generation?” (Mt 11, 16). Jesus is overwhelmed by our heart, more often than not, nonconforming and ungrateful. We are never fulfilled; we are complaining all the time. We even dare to blame Him for all the things that disturb us.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “And coming to her, he said, ‘Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.’”
By Admin Webmaster 12/10/2022 6:16:52 PMMary, a young woman “betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David” (Lk 1, 28) has a plan, of human proportions, evidently. However, God comes into her life to bestow on her another project... of divine proportions. Today, He wants to come into our lives too, to give our everyday human tasks divine proportions.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: "Mi yoke is good and my burden is light"
By Admin Webmaster 12/5/2022 7:57:29 PMToday, Jesus leads us to rest in God. He certainly is a demanding Father, because He loves us and invites us to give Him everything; but He is not an executioner. When He requires something of us it is to help us grow in His love. His only commandment is to love. We can suffer for love, but we can also rejoice in love and rest in love...
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “It is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost”
By Admin Webmaster 12/5/2022 8:27:47 AMToday, Jesus challenges us: “What do you think of this?” (Mt 18, 12): what kind of mercy do you practice? Perhaps, we, “practicing Catholics”, having drunk copiously of God's mercy in his sacraments, could come to a point to think that we are already justified in the eyes of God.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: “As for you, your sins are forgiven.”
By Admin Webmaster 12/4/2022 6:34:28 AMToday, the Lord preaches and cures at the same time. Today we see the Lord teach those who considered themselves to be the more learned of their times: the Pharisees and the teachers of the law. We can sometimes think that because we live in the century we live in or because of the studies we have under our belt, there is little for us left to be learnt.
-
DAILY MEDITATION: "Let it be seen that you are serious in your conversion"
By Admin Webmaster 12/3/2022 6:34:06 AMAdvent, in reality is "conversion that crosses over from the heart into action and, consequently, to the eternal life of the Christian" (Saint John Paul II).

DAILY MEDITATION: “Ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”
By Admin Webmaster 12/2/2022 7:57:48 AMToday's Gospel tells of how Jesus, in front of that huge crowd, felt compassion and said “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” (Mt 9,37-38). He has always wanted to be able to count on us, he wants us, in all our diverse circumstances to become real apostles of the world in which we move and live.
