Pope Leo XIV’s Apostolic to four African nations will be visible for the first time live on the Vatican News widget, which offers Catholic websites up-to-the-minute access to news about the Pope.

Vatican News launched our video widget in February, and it has already been embedded in thousands of websites around the world.

With this new tool for evangelization, visitors to those sites will have direct and easy access to all multimedia material related to Pope Leo XIV’s pilgrimage to Africa from April 13 to 23.

Content includes news reports, videos, and live commentary of papal events, offering reliable and verified content.

Pope: ‘Vatican News widget is a tool for evangelization’

In his letter to Bishops sent in February, Pope Leo XIV himself encouraged them to install the new widget.

“Dear brother, this Vatican News initiative is a tool for evangelization,” he said. “it offers an opportunity to create a network and exchange gifts between Rome and the Church in your country. It is a way for your parishes and communities to constantly obtain information from the primary source.”

Broadcasts and reports in the chosen language

The widget can still be installed easily and free of charge, as underscored by Andrea Tornielli, Editorial Director of the Dicastery for Communication.

Addressing Catholic, parish, and diocesan webmasters, Dr. Tornielli said: “On the eve of Pope Leo’s visit to your country, we are pleased to make this new tool available to you. It will allow all websites and Church-related news services (diocesan, parish, and other media with which you may wish to share this message) to receive live video broadcasts of Pope Leo XIV’s visit and all Vatican News updates in the language of your choice.”
