Catechism and the New Evangelization

Details of an upcoming conference on Catechism were presented Thursday at the Holy See Press Office. The International Conference of Catechesis is being organized by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization as part of ongoing events for the Year of Faith.

There will also be a Day for Catechists which will run from the 28-29 September. As part of the lead up to the three day Conference a new Catholic Church Catechism App for Tablet and Smartphone was launched at the press event.

Speaking after the presentation, the President of the Pontifical Council, Archbishop Rino Fisichella told Lydia O’Kane that it is important for Catholics to know the Catechism well because, “unfortunately the crisis of faith that we see every day belongs also to a big lack of knowledge of the main and fundamental contents of our faith.” The International Conference of Catechesis runs for the 26-28 September.
