DPCU represented at Lambeth Conference
The Lambeth Conference was held at Canterbury from 26 July‒8 August. Convened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, it is a meeting of all the serving Anglican Bishops from around the world, held at approximately ten year intervals. The theme of the 2022 Conference is “God’s Church for God’s World ‒ Walking, Listening and Witnessing Together”, exploring the response of the Anglican Communion to the challenges of a 21st century world.
Among the ecumenical guests invited to the Conference, the Catholic Church too was represented with a delegation organized by the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity. In a plenary session on Christian unity, Reverend Anthony Currer, staff member responsible for Catholic-Anglican relations, presented the reflections in his absence of Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery, on the need for a “common vision” of the goal of the ecumenical movement.
