The Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity mourns the death of Monsignor Mark Langham, who was an official of the Council from 2008–13 responsible for relations with Anglicans and Methodists, and also for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

Pope Francis introduces the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity by encouraging the faithful to pray that Jesus' desire for the unity of all might be accomplished.

The 2021 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is celebrated from 18 to 25 January. During this period, Christians are invited to pray for reconciliation and unity within the Church.

As in other years, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in Rome will be celebrated from 18-25 January, but with restrictions due to the pandemic.
