Ecumenical Prayer on the Feast of the Ascension

On 9 May 2024 an ecumenical service was celebrated in the Lutheran Christ Church in Rome to commemorate the Feast of the Ascension. As every year, Dr Michael Jonas, the pastor of the Lutheran congregation, had prepared the liturgical celebration. Don Giuliano Savina, the director of the "Uffizio Nationale per l′ Ecumenismo" of the Italian Bishops' Conference, gave the sermon. Numerous representatives of various churches and ecclesial communities located in Rome took part in the prayers.

Fr Dr Hyacinthe Destivelle OP and Fr Dr Augustinus Sander OSB participated representing the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity (DPCU).
