LWF-PCPCU Staff Meeting

On 1 February 2022, the annual Staff Meeting of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity (PCPCU) took place in Rome.

The new General Secretary of the LWF, Revd Anne Burghardt, and the Assistant General Secretary for Ecumenical Affairs, Revd Dirk Lange, discussed current possibilities and challenges of Catholic-Lutheran ecumenism with the President of the PCPCU, Cardinal Kurt Koch, the Secretary, Bishop Brian Farrell, and the staff member responsible for dialogue with Lutherans, Revd Fr Augustinus Sander, OSB.

In particular, preparations for the LWF Assembly in Krakow in 2023 were considered, as well as further plans for the 500th anniversary of the Confessio Augustana in 2030.
